This is a global report from the United Nations University in Japan showing that the bottled water industry is a major impediment to the provision of public tap water for all. The industry exploits surface and groundwater and plants doubt about the safety of tap water, thereby lowering public support for public water.
These findings are mirrored in a 2023 book by Portland State University prof Daniel Jaffee, called Unbottled.
