This is a submission to the Canadian government on the mandate of the Canada Water Agency by Keepers of the Water, an Indigenous led organization in northern Alberta made up of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples, as well as environmental and community groups working together for the protection of water.
Keepers of the Water urged the Canada Water Agency to incorporate Indigenous teachings on water governance in its mandate, including natural law and traditional knowledge in order to ensure water is kept safe for future generations.
