It is vitally important when working with young people to give them a sense of hope and purpose while teaching about a difficult subject such as the global water crisis. On one hand, we have to arm ourselves and our students with the most up-to-date information and reports, no matter how dire they are. On the other hand, we need to take care not to overwhelm them with a feeling that the issues are so large, there is nothing meaningful for them to do.
There are many great hope-filled movements, initiatives, and projects for us all to learn about and tap into. Here are just a sample of the many positive water protection and water justice actions and networks that give direction and hope.
