Safeguarding Canada’s Freshwater – Environmental Defence

Environmental Defence is one of Canada’s leading organizations fighting to protect the Great Lakes. Here are a variety of initiatives, including the campaign to close down Line 5, the aging oil pipeline that runs under the Straits of Mackinac, between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. A rupture could contaminate 1200 km of shoreline and threaten the drinking water of millions.
